In the first quarter of 2024, the Film & Television category saw considerable activity on the iOS platform in Latin America. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the performance of the top five applications in this market.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies launched at the end of February and made a significant entry with initial downloads hitting over 800K in its debut week. Despite a slight dip in downloads to 656K in mid-March, the app's weekly active users surged from 535K to over 1.6M by the end of March. Revenue trends remained robust, maintaining close to $1M weekly.

Netflix experienced a steady decline in downloads, starting the quarter with over 300K and closing March with approximately 214K. Weekly active users, however, remained high, starting at 7.8M and rising to 7.2M, indicating a strong and consistent user base. Revenue figures showed slight fluctuations but generally hovered around the $100K mark each week.

Amazon Prime Video showed a decrease in weekly downloads, from 169K in early January to 158K by late March. The platform’s weekly active users saw a rise from 1.1M to 1.14M in the same period. Revenue peaked at $286K in the last week of February but stabilized around $200K towards the end of March.

Star+ displayed a varied download trend, peaking at 140K in mid-January and February, and ending the quarter with nearly 139K downloads. Active users showed a strong presence, peaking at 1.6M in mid-February and ending the quarter at a similar level. Revenue for Star+ remained steady, with a notable peak of $471K in the last week of February.

Lastly, Disney+ saw a gradual decline in downloads from 139K to 119K by the end of March. Despite this, the app’s active users increased from 2M to over 1.8M, and revenue trends were quite positive, with figures oscillating around $700K, reaching a high of $834K in late January.
